my0card (2011)

a participatory project by SATELLITE (Delia Bulgaru, Anca Ștefănică, Alex Tărnăuceanu, Andrei Timofte, Cristina Totolici), Laura Partin and Gabriela Stoica

14-20 february 2011, Moldova Gallery, Iași

Myocard is a participatory art project reflecting, in an ironic manner, the means whereby the mass production influences sentimental interpersonal relationships.
Each year, on the 14th of february, one can officiate the one-day matrimony in varied comercial spaces. The performance in the gallery symbolically hybridizes and questions the serialism of these matrimonies, manifested as a practice which is similar to the process of obtaining products in a factory on the line.
The denomination, "my0card", refers to the devaluation of the feeling as a consumer good, the way this is speculated in the capitalist context, the production of homogenous subjects, who will love only in the hackneyed terms of the matrimonial or material objectives.
